Your Newborn Photography Session - What to Expect

SESSION
I would be absolutely honoured if you choose me as your newborn photographer and thrilled to be able to capture the first days of your sweet little one! Newborn sessions are held in my studio in Aldermaston Reading RG7 4LH West Berkshire and are typically 3- 4 hrs long to ensure that there is plenty of time for feeding, soothing and changing your baby. I only book one client per day so your session is not rushed and baby has all the feeds and cuddles he/she needs.
WHEN TO BOOK
The best time to book your session is just after your 12 week scan or a little bit later if you wish. Once you've booked I will pencil your due date in my diary. Please do not worry about your baby being early or late as I will reserve some time before and after your due date to ensure plenty of availability for you. Newborn sessions are best within the first 14 days of baby’s life (5-10 days ideally) therefore it's SUPER important that you contact me within 48 hours after your baby's birth so I can plan and make myself available for you.
If you missed on booking early please still contact me as soon as you possibly can since due to some babies being late or early I might have last minute availability. Although it is not my usual preference I could still take babies up to 12 weeks old to make sure that you do not miss on your memories. However, you should be open minded about more wrapped, awake and less posed shots in case your little one does not like to sleep a lot due to their older age.
How much does it cost?
Newborn session/booking fee is £150 and it is due at the time of the booking. This covers your newborn session time, equipment, props, photographer's creativity and editing of your final gallery. The session fee does not include any products or images but will be deducted from your final package. After your session you will be able to choose your package and favourite images from the session. There are 3 packages starting as low as £399.

What happens next?
Once booked I will pencil in your due month (as per your due date) and we will set the date for the session when your baby arrives. Please do not leave the booking until the last minute as sessions get booked well in advance and it is important to fit the baby in within the first 2 weeks. While we wait for your baby to arrive we will discuss the colour choices for your session and if there are some specific images that you are drawn to.
What happens after the session?
Following your session your images will be edited to the highest standard and in about 1-3 weeks (excludes holidays and off sick days) you will be invited back to a studio to an in person viewing of your final gallery where you will be able to choose your package and any additional images or wall art / prints / albums you would like - there is no hard sale at all and the choice is entirely up to you.
If you are booking your session last minute the editing of your final gallery and your viewing appointment may be delayed as we would have already arranged other viewing appointments before your booking and your session.
